About the Worker

“I began by learning from my father, and I continue to build my life through the same craft.”
Painter & Construction Worker | 30+ Years Experience | Bengaluru

Journey of Hard Work

My name is Mallikarjun, and I was born and raised in a small town in Andhra Pradesh. Life was simple back then—quiet, warm, and full of innocence. I lived with my parents, where my father worked as a painter and my mother managed our home. I also have two sisters, both married and settled now.

Painting became a part of my life very early. I learned the work by watching my father and brother. I studied only till the 7th standard, but my childhood was filled with joy—playing with friends, climbing trees, and enjoying fresh fruits straight from nature.

As time passed, financial difficulties entered our lives. That was when I decided to join my father in painting work and support my family. What started as a responsibility slowly became my identity.

In 2007, I moved to Bengaluru with my cousin brother in search of better opportunities. Over the years, I gained nearly 30 years of experience in painting. The journey was not easy, but I kept working and learning every day.

One incident changed my life completely. While painting the exterior of a building, I fell from the 5th floor. That accident became a turning point. Since then, I stopped doing exterior painting and decided to focus only on interior work.

I got married 15 years ago, and my wife and I have built our life in Bengaluru. Every day, I travel to construction sites with the same passion I had as a young boy learning from my father.

Even today, I want to continue in this field—my father’s field—until the day I retire.
