About the Worker
“I grew up in the fields, and now I build walls that carry my ambitions.”
Construction Worker | 15 Years Experience | Bengaluru
Journey of Hard Work
My name is Krishna, and I was born and brought up in Adoni. My life began in a small village, in a simple house, but with a big family. We are five siblings—four sisters and one younger brother. All my sisters are married now, and my parents still live in our native place.
My childhood was simple but beautiful. Every day, I ran into the agricultural fields with my friends. We did not have toys or fancy things, but those fields gave us enough happiness. Those days were full of freedom, laughter, and innocence.
But slowly, reality came. Poverty, loans, and marriage responsibilities became heavy on our family. We had too many duties, and I knew I had to step forward. I never went to school—instead, I worked alongside my parents. From a young age, I learned what struggle truly means.
That is when I entered civil construction work. It did not begin as a choice—it became my life.
Later, I got married and moved to Bengaluru with my wife and younger brother. It was a new city, but the same hard work. The difference was that Bengaluru gave me bigger opportunities—and bigger dreams.
For the last 15 years, I have been working in civil construction. I have learned plastering, wall building, and even small design work. Every morning, I travel to the site and work from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., carrying home-cooked food with me. The work is tiring, but it gives me pride because every wall I build is proof of how far I have come.
Today, when I look back, I feel proud. And when I look forward, I feel hopeful.
My dream is simple but strong—to grow further in this civil line, take bigger projects, and build a proper portfolio for myself. Step by step, I want to create something big in my life.
