About the Worker
“I never went to school, but life taught me strength, and I built my path through work.”
Civil Construction Worker | Mother of Three Sons | Bengaluru
Journey of Hard Work
My name is Ussainbi, and I was born and raised in Gulbarga, in a small village surrounded by fields, rivers, and open skies. I grew up with my parents and my elder brother in our native place. My parents were farmers, deeply connected to the land.
We were poor, but our life was rich in love, unity, and hard work. My childhood was filled with simple joys—walking barefoot on the soil, playing in the farmlands, and learning to appreciate nature’s beauty.
I never went to school. Poverty and the long distance to education made it impossible for me. Instead, I became my parents’ helping hand in the agricultural fields. I worked beside them every day, learning life through experience rather than books. Those early years shaped my character and built strength within me.
Everything changed when my father passed away. His death left a deep emptiness in our home and brought heavy responsibilities onto our family. With a burdened heart, my mother arranged my marriage. She married me to a man she knew, who was working in civil construction.
That marriage marked the beginning of a new journey. I stepped into a different life carrying my village memories, but also hoping for a better future.
Today, I live in Bengaluru with my husband and our three sons. Life in the city is not easy, but I face it with courage and determination. To support my family, I work in civil construction along with my husband.
My sons are growing and working hard to build their own lives. One works as a driver, one is in civil construction, and the youngest works as a helper at construction sites. Watching them stand on their own feet gives me pride, strength, and motivation to continue.
Every morning, I complete all my household responsibilities, pack my lunch, and travel to work. My work begins at 9:30 AM and continues until 5:30 PM. My body becomes tired, but my spirit never gives up—because everything I do is for my family.
My dream for the future is simple, but meaningful. I want to clear all our debts and fulfill my responsibilities, especially for my children’s marriages. After completing every duty, I dream of returning to my native village—the place where my journey began. I want to spend my old age close to the land, living peacefully with the memories of a life built through sacrifice and hard work.
This is my story—a life shaped not by education, but by strength, responsibility, and courage.
